Funtazmo in Oman Avenues Mall to open on May 5

Oman Avenues Mall announced the opening date of sultanate's largest indoor family entertainment centre - Funtazmo on Tuesday.

The first of its kind space will be home to more than 250 unique rides and games a children's hair salon 5D cinema and a mega party hall said Ben Watson general manager Oman Avenues Mall at a press conference.

'The fact that Oman doesn't have any one point entertainment destination for all age groups starting from age three years to 60 years compelled the mall and investors to work together to bring this innovative concept to the sultanate. 'The centre in addition to a couple of other fascinating rides also takes pride in hosting the first indoor roller coaster ride in Oman which will be operational by mid-2016.'

Watson added 'The prices will be extremely affordable and this will attract large audiences on all days. 'The 5000sq m area will also have the largest food court in Oman with more than 50 outlets.'

While the main Funtazmo will be located on the second floor Funtazmo Kids will be on the first floor. Funtazmo Kids will especially cater to children between zero and three years and allow parents to relax and shop being assured that their children are safe. Abu Taleb Investment which had previously invested in several entertainment centres in Oman and Egypt is the local partner. Amad Aldin Razzaq Ahmed Talib chairman Abu Taleb Investment said 'We are delighted to announce the launch of Funtazmo.

'Oman was missing a family centre that catered to both young and the young at heart and which is why we conceptualised the place keeping the entire family in mind. Talib added 'But an entertainment centre this large needed a venue that could match up to its scale. We are glad to have found the right partner in Oman Avenues Mall. Other than its diverse shopping offerings convenient access and parking the mall also has the largest food court.'
