Iran plans for massive electricity outbound shipments

(MENAFN) Iran's historic sanctions removal seems to have positively affected all its economic sectors and industries, with oil being on top and the center of focus for all the top powers.

Accordingly, the Islamic Republic has declared its capability to begin exporting the worth of USD10 billion of electricity per year in the short term, thus encouraging all potential buyers.

Additionally, in the long run, the Persian Gulf Republic can materialize the export of up to USD30 billion electric power annually, hence inking major schemes, as clarified by top officials.

"The ministry owes USD5 billion for electricity and USD1.7 billion for hydroelectric power plants to the private sector and contract partners, and it will pay it all," said the Energy Minister.
