Qatar Airways to Announce Its 2015 Financial Results in June


(MENAFN- Qatar News Agency) Qatar Airways CEO Akbar Al Baker said Monday that the airways will announce its annual results for 2015 in June.

This will be the first time ever that the company reports its financial results. The CEO said he expected the company to grow its operations by 26% and 30% in 2016 and 2017 respectively. The growth will be a result of increasing the fleet by 26 planes and five new destinations starting April of next year.

On the latest developments of Al Maha Airways, a subsidiary of Qatar Airways that is set to operate in Saudi Arabia, Al Baker said that the company is still working on finishing the registration requirements.

He stressed on the importance of the Saudi market to Qatar Airways.
On the truth of a deal between Qatar Airways and Italian carrier Meridiana, Al Baker said that they are still negotiating a deal under which the former would takeover the latter.

He said QA could pull out of the deal if they don't reach an agreement. The Qatari airline has a number of conditions to go through with the deal, including decreasing the number of workers and amending the company's strategy to suit Qatar Airways.
