Husband jailed for threatening wife's lover

(MENAFN- Khaleej Times) A marketing manager who allegedly threatened to kill a compatriot if he resorted to the police regarding his illicit affair with his wife has been sentenced to three months in jail.

The Court of First Instance heard earlier the 48-year-old Indian man learned that the defendant an accountant also 48 had pictures with his wife and an audio recording too.

The manager allegedly threatened the defendant to kill him if he resorted to police with what he allegedly had. He earlier denied charges of physical assault and making criminal threats.

The complainant said during the investigation that the husband came to his workplace in Al Jadaf around noon on June 20 last year. "He asked me to give him my mobile phone. He then tried to snatch it from my hand and twisted my right arm".

The accused then allegedly tried to strangle the other man and threatened him. "He told me he would kill me if I handed the photos that proved the illicit relation between me and his wife to the police and the audio recording as well".

According to the forensic report the accused inflicted a permanent shoulder injury on the complainant. The verdict may be appealed.
