Kuwait- KRCS takes part in ARCO meet in Jordan


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) By Arwa Al-Wgayyan KUWAIT April 25 (KUNA) -- Kuwait Red Crescent Society (KRCS) will take part in the Arab Red Crescent and Red Cross Organization (ARCO) meetings to be held in Jordan between April 28-29 KRCS' Chairman Dr. Hilal Al-Sayer said.

In remarks to KUNA he stressed the importance of humanitarian volunteering work and relief efforts at the Arab and international levels.

He emphasized the importance of this meeting as it sets a road map to the humanitarian relief work by offering aid to needy people especially in Yemen Iraq Somalia besides Syrian refugees in Syria's neighboring countries of Jordan and Lebanon.

The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) and the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) and King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Centre observers' reports will be viewed during the meetings he affirmed.

The meetings will also tackle means of cooperation and coordination between Arab relief societies regarding the topics listed on the upcoming humanitarian summit's agenda in Istanbul Turkey he said.

KRCS will sign a cooperation agreement with King Hussein Cancer Center (KHCC) to offer medical aid to Syrian refugees with Cancer who are unable to afford medical treatment fees he added.

During this visit KRCS will distribute humanitarian aid to Syrian refugees in Jordan in cooperation with Jordan Red Crescent Society (JRCS) in various governorates. (end) akw.lb
