Rocket projectile injures one in SE Turkey


(MENAFN- The Journal Of Turkish Weekly) >A rocket projectile apparently fired from Syria injured one person in Turkey’s southeastern border province Kilis on Sunday.

An Anadolu Agency correspondent reporting from the scene said the rocket landed in a mosque 100 metersaway from the Governor's Office building while Turkey’s Deputy Prime Minister Yalcin Akdogan was present.

The injured was rushed to the hospital.

On Sunday at least 16 people were injured bytwo rockets reportedly fired from Syria.

Police increased the security measures in the region.

Kilis lies 6 kilometers (4 miles) from the Syrian border and has been repeatedly hit by rockets fired from Syria. Eight people have been killed in the city by rockets since last Monday.
