Qatar off to winning start at GCC Junior Women Handball


(MENAFN- The Peninsula) Action from the inaugural GCC Junior Women Handball Tournament at Qatar Women Sport Committee (QWSC) Hall against Bahrain in Doha on Friday. The hosts won 22-8 in the opening match held at the QWSC Hall at Aspire Dome on Friday.

DOHA: Hosts Qatar started their campaign in the inaugural GCC Junior Women Handball Tournament 2016 on a high note defeating Bahrain 22-8 in the opening match at Women Sport Hall at Aspire Dome on Friday.

Qatar Olympic Committee Secretary General Dr Thani bin Abdulrahman Al Kuwari Sheikha Naeema Al Ahmad Al-Sabah the Chairwoman of GCC Women Sport Organising Committee Sheikh Sultan Homaid Al-Hossani the Chairman of GCC Handball Organising Committee and Dr. Ahlam Al Mane the Qatar Women Sport Committee (QWSC) Chief attended the event’s opening ceremony.

QWSC is hosting the event in collaboration with QOC and Qatar Handball Association (QHA) under the supervision of the GCC Women Sport Organising Committee.

The week-long event is bringing together three GCC countries including hosts Qatar Bahrain and United Arab Emirates.
