(MENAFN- Jordan News Agency) Amman April 24 (Petra)-- US President Barack Obama dismissed the prospect of its county and Britain to send ground troops into the Middle East to oust Syrian President Bashar al-Assad.
During an interview with the BBC television Obama stated "It would be a mistake for the United States or Great Britain or a combination of Western states to send in ground troops and overthrow the Assad regime." He also said that the military interventions in Syria is not a solution.
On the UK-US trade deal he stressed it could take 5 to 10 years to negotiate if Britain votes to leave the European Union at a June 23 referendum.
He said "It could be five years from now 10 years from now before we were able to actually get something done." WH
