Oman- Facility with unlicensed slimming products raided

The Consumer Protection Administration in Buraimi recently raided a location for illegally manufacturing storing and promoting herbal medicines and cosmetics. The raid followed advertisements in newspapers promoting quick weight loss products.

The administration contacted the company's representative posing as a buyer and nabbed him red-handed as he promoted unlicensed capsules and creams. The entire operation was conducted in cooperation with the ROP and the Public Prosecution.

A team from the administration also raided the facility located in an industrial area. Among the items seized were food supplements and herbal powders - over 14000 packs of unlicensed items 1162 kg of herbs 97050 stickers 63 boxes of herbs 30000 empty boxes and 1960 packs of cosmetic said Salim al Shami manager at the Consumer Protection Administration. He said workers at the facility have been referred to the Public Prosecution.
