(MENAFN- Qatar News Agency) Gaza April 19 (QNA) - The head of Qatar's National Committee for the Reconstruction Gaza HE Ambassador Mohammed Al-Emadi signed today at Almat'haf Hotel a new package of contracts for projects funded by Qatar in the Gaza Strip in the presence of the Palestinian Minister of Public Works and Housing Mofeed Al-Hasayneh with a number of representatives of institutions and governmental and non-governmental organizations.
Speaking at the signing ceremony of contracts HE Ambassador Al-Emadi conveyed the greetings and appreciation of HH the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani and HH Father Emir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al-Thani and all official and popular institutions in the State of Qatar to the Palestinian people who aspired for better future for their citizens at all levels in these difficult conditions.
He said after signing the contracts the national committee over the past few years had carried out large-scale projects worth about $300 million out of the donation of HH the Father Emir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani which amounted to $ 407 million and other grants.
He noted that Qatar had carried out the largest projects at the level of Palestine such as the city of HH the Father Emir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani which includes 3000 housing units and distribution of 1000 housing units for a number of Palestinian beneficiaries and that there are1237 housing units will distributed at the end of the year as well as Salaheddin Street project stretching along and around the 28 km long from Rafah crossing into Gaza through six tracks.
He noted that the new package of projects estimated at $ 20 million covering three major projects such as building eight residential buildings within the city of HH the Father Emir Shaikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al-Thani in Madinat Al-Zahra in the central Gaza Strip and Reform and rehabilitation Center in Khan Younis southern Gaza and tender supply installation operation equipment and medical devices and electronic and furniture for HH the Father Emir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al-Thani Rehabilitation and Prosthetics Hospital.(QNA)
