PepsiCo gradually abandons soda production
(MENAFN) PepsiCo is shifting away from the soda that made it famous as less than 25 percent of the company's global sales are currently from soda.
Instead, the American multinational corporation is increasingly focusing on healthy snacks and non-carbonated beverages, according to the latest reports.
The New York-based giant has found notable success with its snack business, with the Frito-Lay division serving as a bright spot in the firm's most recent quarter.
The overall volume of soda consumed in the US dropped 1.2pct in 2015, and Pepsi Cola consumption slipped 3.2pct, compared to Coca-Cola's dip of 1pct by volume.
All in all, whereas PepsiCo Inc. isn't entirely deserting its famous soda, the Supermajor is obviously very keen to look outside of carbonated drinks for sales.
