Saudi- More than 4000 flee Uruguay storm

Montevideo Rajab 11 1437 April 18 2016 SPA -- Flooding from a days-long violent storm has driven more than 4000 Uruguayans from their homes the National Emergency System (SINAE) said Monday according to dpa.

Heavy rain and rising rivers have caused deadly flooding in the country's north washing out dozens of roads and leaving communities stranded.

One person was missing after being swept away by a river SINAE director Juan Andres Roballo said.

The National Institute of Meteorology warned of a potential 50 millimetres of rain or more per hour and winds exceeding 120 kilometres per hour.

A tornado Friday killed four people and injured hundreds in the city of Dolores 280 kilometres north-west of the Montevideo.
