GCC, US officials discuss ways of confronting extremism terrorism


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) RIYADH April 18 (KUNA) -- Officials from the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) and the US met in Riyadh Monday on fighting extremism and terrorist ideologies and terrorist recruitment.

GCC Assistant Secretary General for Political Affairs and Negotiations Dr. Abdulaziz Al-Uwaisheq said the officials discussed discussed means of recruiting terrorists and initaitives of countries to fighting terrorist and extremist ideologies.

They agreed to establish a network designed to fighting extremism terrorist recruitment and extremist ideologies he said.

Al-Uwaisheq said they officials exchanged views over these issues and how to confront them. (end) yms.bs
