Amman April 18 (Petra)--Prime Minister Abdullah Ensour on Monday met with CEO of the Russian Rosatom State Atomic Energy Corporation Sergei Kiriyenko and the accompanying delegation during which he was briefed on the Kingdom's first nuclear power plant.
Talks during the meeting attended by Jordan Atomic Energy Commission Chairman Khaled Toukan also dealt with progress in constructing Jordan's atomic plant as well as achievements related to the project.
Ensour said the venture is of great economic importance pointing to the Russian vast experience in this field.
The prime minister gave instructions to continue conducting further studies with the Russian side relating to ecological impact and water adding that the government will take into consideration all studies and their findings and will take the appropriate decision accordingly.
Kiriyenko said the project is important in saving energy and noted that his company will put all its expertise in this field to make this project a regional success story.
