New Delhi Rajab 11 1437 Apr 18 2016 SPA -- A bus carrying members of a local opera troupe crashed into a gorge in eastern India killing 27 people dpa cited police as saying Monday.
The accident took place in the hilly Deogarh district in Orissa state on Sunday night when the driver lost control of the vehicle while negotiating a sharp turn on the road police said.
"The bus which was carrying 38 passengers fell down some 300 feet [91 metres] rolling down the hills and hitting the rocks. Most victims died on the scene" district police official DP Das said over the phone.
