Singapore logs 15pct fall in overseas trade over March

(MENAFN) Singapore's non-oil domestic exports (NODX), a key indicator of the export performance of the small and highly open economy has dropped by 15.6pct last month y-o-y.

In accordance, the plummet was in contrast to the 2.0 percent expansion in the prior month, and this is because of a contraction in both electronic and non-electronic NODX.

On a year-on-year basis, NODX to all of the top 10 NODX markets dipped in March, as the biggest contributors to the NODX contraction were the EU 28, China and Indonesia.

Electronic NORX fell by 2.8pct in March y-o-y, after the 2.0pct slump in the previous month, and this reduction in electronic NORX was due to ICs, parts of PCs and disk drives.
