Hyundai, KIA to recollect thousands of faulty sedans


(MENAFN) Hyundai and KIA, South Korea's key carmakers, are recalling an overall 14,926 passenger cars for problems with their steering and lighting systems, based on recent reports.

Hyundai's YF Sonata and Kia's K5 mid-sized sedans were found to have faults in the electronic control unit of the steering system that could lead to a short circuit when it's raining.

Accordingly, free repair services for the owners of the affected vehicles will be available starting today at Hyundai and Kia service centers throughout the entire country.

Moreover, the problem has been detected in 7,794 YF Sonatas produced between Jan- July 2010, and 11,681 K5 sedans manufactured between May and July of the same year.
