Hyundai, KIA's sales attain 100m units' milestone

(MENAFN) The collected sales of Hyundai Motor Co. and its smaller affiliate KIA Motors Corp. have touched over 100 million units this week, a feat achieved in less time than most other key carmakers.

The triumph came 54 years since the group began producing cars in 1962, but Hyundai is not the 1st to have reached the milestone, but likely is the 1st to do so in such a short period of time compared to others.

By vehicle, Hyundai Motor's compact passenger car the famous Avante, sold internationally as the Elantra, is the group's most sold vehicle with 11.19 million units sold since its debut in 1990.

Meanwhile, KIA, South Korea's second-largest automobile manufacturer's bestselling car ever is the Pride compact passenger car, which sold a total of 4.22 million units since its launch in 1986.
