Global Security Forum hosts foreign minister in Slovakia

Bratislava April 16 (Petra) -- Global Security Forum (GLOBSEC 2016) which was held in the Slovakian capital of Bratislava on Saturday hosted the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign and Expatriate Affairs Nasser Judeh who reviewed Jordan's position with regard to the latest regional and international developments.

In a keynote speech at the gathering Judeh stressed the importance of unifying the international community's efforts at all levels to address terrorism and extremism which threaten the whole world. He also stressed the importance of dealing with this threat in a holistic approach adding that Jordan was and will always be at the forefront of these efforts.

Judeh reiterated Jordan's stance under the leadership of His Majesty King Abdullah II with regard to finding a comprehensive and political solution to the Syrian crisis.

The minister pointed to the huge burden Jordan has to endure due to hosting more that 1.3 million Syrian refugees and their impact on the Kingdom's limited resources.

Judeh called for re-launching serious effective and time-limited Palestinian-Israeli negotiations that would ultimately lead to establishing an independent Palestinian state.

The minister also spoke about developments in Yemen Iraq and Libya stressing the importance of reaching a political solution in these countries.

Participants at the Globsec 2016 praised security and stability that Jordan enjoys stressing the importance of its pivotal role under the leadership of His Majesty King Abdullah in dealing with the latest developments in the region and achieving peace and stability in it.
