Morocco World Bank Hail Excellent Bilateral Relations


(MENAFN- Morocco World News) Minister of Economy and Finance Mohammed Boussaid and President of the World Bank Group (WB) Jim Yong Kim hailed the excellent relations between Morocco and the World Bank as manifested in the volume and quality of reforms and investment programs.

In an interview on the sidelines of the Spring Meetings of the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank Group (April 15-17) Boussaid highlighted progress made by Morocco in political economic and social areas under the leadership of HM king Mohammed VI.

With regards to the protection of environment and sustainable development Boussaid noted that the choice of Morocco as host of the United Nations Climate Conference (COP 22) to be held in Marrakech next November shows the recognition by the international community of the efforts made by the Kingdom in the field.

For his part the President of the World Bank who confirmed his presence at COP 22 expressed the will of the Bretton Woods Institution to support Morocco in organizing this global event.

Boussaid took part in a meeting between IMF Managing Director Christine Lagarde and Finance ministers and central bank governors in the MENA region.

He also had talks with IMF and WB’s representatives which focused on various aspects of cooperation between the kingdom and these institutions.
