S. Korea logs 30pct slump in home sales over March

(MENAFN) Amid some signs of a slowdown in the domestic property market, South Korea's home sales decreased 30.4 percent last month from a year earlier.

According to data compiled by the Ministry of Land, the overall home transactions touched 77,853 in March compared with a record 111,869 tallied a year ago.

Additionally, it also marked a 9.9 percent decline from a five-year average of 86,000, while it climbed 31.4 percent from the previous month's 59,265.

The sharp fall in March came after a 25pct on-year drop in Feb and a 21pct slip in Jan, signaling that the local real estate market is rapidly cooling down from a market boom last year.
