Ooredoo Oman net profit grows 17.8 percent in Q1


(MENAFN) Ooredoo Oman, the Sultanate's number 2 telecom operator, recorded a 17.8 percent increase in Q1 net profit, its seventh rise in nine quarters.

Additionally, the firm made revenue of USD 32.73mn in the cited quarter to March. 31, compared with a profit of USD 27.71mn in 2015.

The firm, which ended Oman Telecommunication firm's (Omantel) monopoly in 2005, reported rising profits in six of the preceding eight quarters.

Moreover, first quarter income was USD 171.15mn, compared with USD 153.54mn a year earlier.
