Omani Sohar water plant to start work by 2018


(MENAFN) Oman Power and Water Procurement (OPWP) signed a USD 258.93mn deal with a consortium to set up a flagship firm which will build desalination plant in Sohar.

Moreover, the project is predicted to meet 80 percent of water demand, under the growing urbanization, tourism and industrial activities in Al Batinah North.

The project will generate 250,000 cubic meters of water each day, user reserve osmosis as water cleansing technology.

In addition, the project will have a role in helping water security in Oman, and will collaborate to cut the cost of water procurement.
