Morocco 5 People in Connection to Foiled Smuggling of 6 Tons of Cannabis

(MENAFN- Morocco World News) Five other people including international drug lords were arrested as part of investigations conducted by Moroccan authorities following the seizure of about 6 tons of cannabis resin according to Maghreb Arab Press (MAP).

Investigations also led to the seizure of a gun 13 cartridges and two tasers the Central Bureau for Judiciary Investigations (BCIJ) said in a statement.

Investigations are ongoing under the supervision of the competent public prosecutor’s office to shed light on the ring’s activities and identify other accomplices BCIJ added.

A trafficking operation of 6 tons and 370 kg of cannabis was foiled by BCIJ following the smashing of an international criminal ring operating between Morocco and Europe.

The drug was carefully hidden in a cargo of frozen fish meant to be exported onboard a truck BCIJ said on Sunday.

The network’s mastermind and six other people were arrested it said.
