Kuwait- Car bomb kills soldier, injures 27 in Diyarbakir


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) ISTANBUL April 12 (KUNA) -- A car explosion killed one Turkish soldier and injured 27 others in a military Base in Turkey's mostly-Kurdish south-eastern city of Diyarbakir local security sources said.

A booby-trapped car rammed into a military police station Monday night in Hani town southeastern Turkey Turkey's Ihlas news agency said adding that the powerful blast damaged nearby buildings.

Helicopters and more than 20 ambulances rushed the victims to the Diyarbakir Military Hospital the sources said.

Local media reports blamed the deadly blast on terrorists affiliated with the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK).

Turkish Army killed 39 PKK members in recent days in clahses in four Diyarbakir's towns.(end).
