Tickets go on sale for Doha showdown

Doha: Tickets for the 2016 IAAF Doha Diamond League the top international athletics event set to be held in Doha next month have been put on sale the organisers announced yesterday.

The IAAF Diamond League which will be held on May 6 at the Qatar Sports Club will bring together the world’s finest track and field athletes to compete in an annual series spread across four continental areas.

Fans will be thrilled to know that many of the sport’s superstars with several Olympic and global titles to their credit will come to Doha for a fantastic and spectacular IAAF Diamond League kick-off night.

The long list includes: four-time Olympic and nine-time world champion sprinter Allyson Felix from the US Flying Dutchwoman Dafne Schippers - the 200m world champion triple jump Olympic and world gold medallist Christian Taylor Kenya’s 1500m world champion Asbel Kiprop Ethiopia’s 3000m sensation and winner at last year’s world championships Almaz Ayana 110m hurdles Olympic champion and world record holder Aries Merritt as well as local heroes Mutaz Barshim Femi Ogunode and Musaeb Abdulrahman Balla.

Tickets can be booked on the Virgin Megastore website. Also tickets will shortly be available at Virgin Megastore Landmark Villagio and Spinneys the Pearl.

Fans can also buy tickets from Qatar Sports Club on the day of event. There are four different price levels ranging from QR50 to QR200.

General seats and family tribune cost QR50 while finish line tickets are being offered at QR100.The entrance fee in the VIP tribune has been fixed at QR200.

The entrance for kids under the age of 4 is free of charge.
