4th forum of Gulf zakat institutions kicks off in Manama


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) MANAMA April 10 (KUNA) -- The fourth meeting of the zakat (alms) institutions in Arab Gulf countries convened in Manama Sunday to discuss boosting cooperation and experience exchange.

Speaking at the opening session Undersecretary of the Bahraini Ministry of Justice Islamic Affairs and Endowments Dr. Fareed Al-Moftah underlined the significance of high-quality training for staff to improve efficiency of zakat institutions in Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) member states.

He called for greater cooperation to among GCC institutions to serve societies and contribute to state building and development process.

The meeting is organized by the Ministry of Justice Islamic Affairs and Endowments in collaboration with the Gulf Cooperation Council's General Secretariat. (end) mge.ibi
