UAE- Mum who was tortured by son appeals for help on radio show

(MENAFN- Khaleej Times) A woman who was beaten up and tortured by her son has been provided shelter by the Sharjah Department of Social Services (SSD). The department is also providing psychological care to the mother.

The case came to the fore after the woman appealed to a talk show hosted simultaneously on radio and TV to save her before her son murders her.

She didn't mention her age or that of her son. The radio and TV channels contacted the police and urged them to intervene.

The police have launched a manhunt for the son while the SSD provided help to the mother.

The message that was read out live during the show provoked a strong reaction from Emiratis. They called for strict punishment for the son. The issue has become a topic of discussion on social media and online forums.
