Kuwait- PAAAFR concludes workshop on pesticides


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) KUWAIT April 10 (KUNA) -- Director of the Department of Agricultural Guidance at the Public Authority for Agriculture and Fish Resources (PAAAFR) Ghanem Al-Sanad said Sunday the authority concluded a workshop on best ways to deal with pesticides entering the country through customs ports.

The workshop meant to raise awareness in the field of agricultural pesticides where the authority has always worked to secure this aspect with other participants in Kuwait Al-Sanad told KUNA.

The authority is working in cooperation with the countries of the region to enact laws regulating pesticides trading pointing out that a common law has already been applied in the GCC states for pesticides he said.

The workshop also aimed to define the commercial fraud methods in pesticides which has become prevalent in all countries because of its negative effects on agricultural production public health and the environment.

PAAAFR seeks to raise awareness among workers in the field of pesticides and inform them about new technologies in this regard being an essential priority in addition to awareness programs organized throughout the year. (end) mf.ss
