KUNA chief hosts Lebanese journalist


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) KUWAIT April 10 (KUNA) -- Chairman and General Director of Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) Sheikh Mubarak Al-Duaij Al-Ibrahim Al-Sabah received on Sunday Rajeh Al-Khoury a veteran columnist in the Lebanese daily newspaper An-Nahar.

Discussions between the KUNA chief and Al-Khoury currently visiting the country in response to an invitation by the Ministry of Information dealt with issues related to the Arab media its role in tackling crises and political turbulence.

Sheikh Mubarak Al-Duaij said the Arab media has tangibly developed since the past years stressing that this progress must continue in response to Arab citizens' aspiration toward competition with the foreign media.

Moreover the Arab media should bolster its role in support of sustainable growth efforts in the Arab world adhere to basic principles such as credibility and objectivity as well as covering the news without sensationalism or exaggeration he stated. (end) fa.rk
