Qatar- Djibouti President Wins Fourth Term


(MENAFN- Qatar News Agency) Djibouti April 09 (QNA) - President of Djibouti Ismail Omar Guelleh has won a fourth term in office in the first round of elections held on Friday Prime Minister Abdoulkader Kamil Mohamed announced on national TV.
The incumbent "took between 74 and 75 per cent of the votes in Djibouti city and Balbala" in Friday's polls the Prime Minister said.
The two areas comprise around 60 percent of the country's population prompting the premier to declare Guelleh's victory.
Three of the seven parties in the opposition coalition boycotted the election.
About 180000 people were eligible to vote in the country of 23200 square kilometers and nearly 900000 residents. (QNA)
