KIA sells thousands of Niro hybrid SUVs since launch

(MENAFN) Kia Motors Corp., South Korea's second-biggest automaker, has sold nearly 2,500 units of its recently unveiled Niro hybrid SUV since its launch late last month, based on reports.

In more detail, counting the 1,500 preorders received prior to its launch, the carmaker sold a daily average of 150 units ever since, which has added up to around 2,500 units.

The Niro seems to be appealing to younger male customers, hence the Seoul-based gigantic forecasts to sell up to 40,000 units of the Niro on a yearly basis if the current sales pace continues.

Equipped with a 1.6 GDI engine, coupled with a 32 kW motor system and six-speed dual clutch transmission, the Niro can produce up to 141 horsepower and a maximum torque of 27 kg-meters.
