Silver Creek Industries Wins 2016 MBI Award of Distinction


(MENAFNEditorial) Silver Creek Industries (SCI) (silver-creek.net) announced that its team received a 2016 Award of Distinction from the Modular Building Institute (MBI) at the World of Modular convention in San Diego on March 20th for its Antonio Maria Lugo Academy education project.

The Awards of Distinction is the modular building industry''s premier award program recognizing design excellence in structures built utilizing prefabricated systems. It highlights the most creative and innovative modular building solutions from projects worldwide.

The Aspire Public Schools'' Antonio Maria Lugo Academy is a two-story 37248 sf education building consisting of a single structure which houses an entire charter school campus. The building contains 17 classrooms a library a kitchen multipurpose space office spaces interior corridors and interior stairs. The building''s exterior is covered with a vertical metal siding system that utilizes multiple colors and panel profiles with aluminum and stucco accents providing a striking architectural presence.

Winning the Permanent Modular Education Award was quite the feat as this year''s contest generated 110 entries for projects around the world. In addition the MBI confirmed there were 14 entries in the permanent modular education category and this category was among the most competitive they have ever had with the independent judges scoring the top eight entries within 10% of one another. Of the 14 permanent modular construction education projects 12 were US entries 1 Canadian and 1 from South America.
