Qatar- ExxonMobil's Tamayoz empowers participants
DOHA: ExxonMobil Qatar presented 13 Tamayoz training courses between January and March 2016 for 280 employees from partner Qatar Petroleum; joint ventures RasGas and Qatargas; Tasweeq and Nakilat. Tamayoz demonstrates ExxonMobil Qatar’s commitment to sharing technical commercial and operational expertise in a way that benefits individual participants while also reinforcing the state of Qatar’s growth toward a knowledge-based economy.
“At ExxonMobil Qatar we’re committed to developing human capacity at every level and across various fields so that we can strengthen Qatar’s capability to innovate adapt and thrive. We do this in support of His Highness The Emir’s vision for a knowledge-based society a vision that can only be made possible with a workforce that is meeting its full potential” said Alistair Routledge President and General Manager for ExxonMobil Qatar. “Through our Tamayoz training program and by sharing ExxonMobil’s knowledge and expertise with our partners in Qatar’s energy industry we’re working to ensure that human development doesn’t end in the classroom. Our goal is to empower participants to become the best business leaders communicators and innovators they can be.”
Tamayoz delivers professional and personal development opportunities through six targeted critical competency areas: leadership and personal effectiveness; project management; commercial; operations excellence; technical (surface and subsurface); and safety health and the environment.
Courses held between January and March included offerings from each of the six key subject areas including the flagship Leadership and Operations Excellence courses: Technical and Commercial Leadership and Production Best Practices both of which were held twice.
The Technical and Commercial Leadership course targets professionals with between five and 10 years of experience and aims to improve their ability to influence and shape the technical and commercial direction of an organisation through leadership skills while Production Best Practices helps staff in operations leadership or support roles to understand how applying best practices tools and collaboration contribute to excellence in safety integrity reliability and profitability.
ExxonMobil Qatar also offered courses in Materials Engineering; Crisis Management for Marine; Economic Analysis; Carbonate Geology Basics; and Advanced Influence and Negotiation; as well as a number of project engineering and management courses. Approximately 150 courses have been offered free of charge to ExxonMobil Qatar’s partners and joint ventures with more than 2300 individuals receiving training since the inception of the programme in 2012. In 2015 alone over 40 courses were offered to more than 600 industry professionals. All Tamayoz training programmes are an extension of ExxonMobil Qatar’s ongoing commitment to the development of Qatar’s national workforce.
