Jordan to implement two new wind plants at USD 100mn


(MENAFN) Two wind power plants with whole capacity of 100 megawatts will be finished and connected to the grid by 2019.

Moreover, the first USD 110mn 50MW wind plant, which will be situated in Tafileh, will be applied by the Korea Southern Power Company Ltd.

Additionally, the wind plant will cost over USD 100mn, and will be financed through loans from the Islamic Development Bank.

"We chose to invest in Jordan due to its strategic location, and the wind speed in [the Kingdom is] very suitable for wind plants," said senior manager.
