Tobruk Parliament fails for 8th time to vote for Libyan unity gov't


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) TUNIS April 4 (KUNA) -- The Tobruk-based House of Representatives (HOR) failed on Monday for the 8th time to endorse the national unity government headed by Prime Minister Fayez Al-Sarraj due to lack of quorum.

Libyan media outlets said parliament session on the government motion witnessed the absence of many members and government needed approval of 40 members with the attendance of 120 MPs from a total of 200 members.

Recently Tobruk parliament President Saleh Quwadir called in a televised address on the members to attend the session and approve Al-Surraj's government unity motion after it has failed to pass it for the past two months.

Quwadir also called on members to attend to review the ministers' Curriculum Vitas prior to approving the motion. (end) ksj.mb
