(MENAFN- Khaleej Times) This Thursday (April 7) City Centre Deira is hosting its `fashion meets music' event.
Arab Idol Mohammed Assaf will take the stage to perform some of his most popular tracks while models showcase the season's latest trends from fashion brands housed in the mall on the catwalk.
Mohammed Assaf gained world recognition as a contestant on Arab Idol. The Palestinian star, a self-taught singer, was given the nickname Asaroukh ("The Rocket") by Lebanese singer and Arab Idol judge Ragheb Alama.
Assaf's story is the basis of the 2015 biopic, The Idol, directed by Hany Abu-Assad.
In 2013, Assaf was named a goodwill ambassador for peace by The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA).
