Egypt calls for formulating clear ideas for success of Mideast peace conf.
(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) CAIRO April 3 (KUNA) -- Egypt on Sunday underlined the need for formulating clear ideas to ensure the success of a France-proposed international conference for reviving the stalled Mideast peace process.
In a press statement following Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry's meeting with France's special envoy for the Mideast peace initiative Pierre Vimont the Foreign Ministry spokesman said that the minister emphasized the importance of confidence building measures between both sides.
He also reiterated Egypt's support Palestinian sovereign rights.
The two sides have discussed the French ideas for a peace deal and its executive timetable the spokesman said adding that they have agreed on continuing consultations in this regard in the coming period.
The French guest briefed the Egyptian minister about the outcome of his international tour to prepare for the conference. (end) rg.ibi
