Kuwait- Head of illegal residents' agency receives US official


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) KUWAIT April 3 (KUNA) -- Executive Chairman of the Central Agency for Remedying Illegal Residents' Status Saleh Al-Fadalah on Sunday received the political officer at the US embassy in Kuwait Lloyd Freeman.

During the meeting Al-Fadalah reviewed the road map approved by the cabinet to handle the issue the agency said in a press release.

In addition Al-Fadalah offered the US official a detailed explanation of the facilities and advantages the state provides for illegal residents in line with the cabinet resolution No. 409/2011 the release added.

He stressed that education and health services are guaranteed to all with no exception.

According to Al-Fadalah the agency's efforts have encouraged illegal residents to reveal their real nationalities as 8000 of them adjusted status over the past five years.

He emphasized the fact that "nationality" is a sovereign right of the state but this does not mean cancelling naturalization as huge numbers were naturalized over the past two decades. (end) tb.msa
