Hyundai, KIA sales in US over Q1 mark best ever


(MENAFN) Hyundai Motor Co. and KIA witnessed their best ever sales' performance in the United States throughout the first three months, according to the latest reports.

The two South Korean behemoths sold a joint 133,589 units in the U.S. last month, and after being combined with Jan and Feb sales, their performances marked the greatest ever.

Specifically, Hyundai's sales increased 0.4 percent to 75,310 units in March on the solid demand for the Tucson sport utility vehicle, whose sales climbed 85 percent to 7,830 units from 2015.

KIA's March sales included the best-ever single month sales for the Forte line of compact cars, and together with Jan and Feb numbers, marked a new first quarter record of 146,321 vehicles.
