Qatar condemns Syrian regime's aerial attack on village

Doha: The State of Qatar condemned Saturday the air raid conducted by the Syrian regime in Deir al-Asafir village South-East of Damascus and led to the murder and injuries of dozens the majority of which were women and children.

The Qatari Ministry of Foreign Affairs released a statement today saying that the air raid was in violation to the ceasefire and related UN resolutions including resolution no. 2268 of 2016. The ministry added in the statement that the attack reflects the regime's policies of killing civilians and destroying the state's infrastructure. The ministry also said that the attack threatened all international efforts to reach a political solution that achieves the aspirations of the Syrian people.

The statement highlighted Qatar's invitation to the international community and the UN Security Council to assume its responsibilities in ending these crimes and protect the Syrian people. In addition to prevent any undermining of reaching a political solution to the Syrian crisis.
