Deadly clashes break out in Palestinian refugee camp in Lebanon
(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) BEIRUT April 1 (KUNA) -- At least one person was killed and several others wounded when gunmen exchanged fire in Ain Al-Hilweh Palestinian refugee camp southeast Sidon city south Lebanon on Friday evening.
The clashes erupted as a result of an individual dispute that developed into a fierce battle where heavy gunfire and RPGs were used.
Palestinian and Lebanese officials engaged in mediation efforts to bring the situation back to normal according to Lebanon's National News Agency (NNA).
The camp the largest Palestinian refugee camp in Lebanon was the scene of a gun battle between Fatah movement and a radical group several days ago when a Fatah gunman was killed. (end) ayb.gb
