The QRCS has launched the Disaster Management Information System (DMIS) at its headquarters on March 28 2016.

The DMIS aims at assessing and following-up on the humanitarian situation of IDPs in Iraq in cooperation with the QRCS Delegation in Irbil.

The move aims to prepare in the next few days a detailed response plan to provide relief to thousands of the besieged and affected families under the United Nations Humanitarian Response Plan (HRP) 2016 in Iraq in the related sectors.

According to the United Nations Humanitarian Needs Overview (HNO) 2016 of Iraq there is a remarkable increase in the number of internally displaced people (IDPs) in the country because of the ongoing conflict.

The figure has reached 3.2 million. Women and Children account for 75 percent of the IDPs.
