Qatar- ROTA attends aid and development forum in Dubai

DOHA: Reach Out To Asia (ROTA) a member of Qatar Foundation for Education Science and Community Development (QF) recently participated in the 13th edition of the three-day Dubai International Humanitarian Aid & Development Conference & Exhibition (DIHAD) 2016.

The event which kicked off on March 21 at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre was entitled ‘The Importance of Innovation in Humanitarian Aid and Development’. It brought together experts from around the world to discuss solutions to challenges related to food security nutrition water and sanitation health care and transportation. Participants sought innovative solutions to support communities in need in light of increasing global humanitarian crises.

A high-ranking delegation chaired by ROTA’s Executive Director Essa Al Mannai attended the event and held a series of bilateral meetings on the sidelines of the conference to exchange expertise and promote cooperation with officials from international institutions and organizations.

Commenting on the delegation’s participation in the conference Mr. Mohammed Jassim Al Naama ROTA’s Acting Executive Director and Senior Management Representative said: “We are honoured to participate in the Dubai International Humanitarian Aid & Development Conference & Exhibition alongside representatives of governments civil society groups volunteers and relief organizations from around the world.”

“We participated in the conference because its objectives fall in line with our mission to extend a helping hand to the less fortunate in communities that suffer from disorder and crises. We are also seeking to forge strategic partnerships with international organizations in order to promote cooperation and step up efforts in support of relief work providers.”

The conference provided a platform for the exchange of information between participants and humanitarian organizations who shared their success stories and discussed partnerships opportunities between non-governmental agencies and public institutions. The conference which was launched under the patronage of Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Vice President and Prime Minister of United Arab Emirates and Ruler of Dubai brought together officials and representatives of large volunteer organizations non-government agencies and public companies from the region and the Arab world.The Peninsula
