UAE- No reprieve for man who murdered elderly Emirati


(MENAFN- Khaleej Times) The Ras Al Khaimah Criminal Court of Appeal has upheld a death sentence for a man found guilty of stabbing an old man to death.

As per court records the defendant an Asian resident had a stiff argument with the victim an old Emirati national over some financial disputes.

The court presided over by Dr Mohammed Muftah Al Khatiri has earlier issued the capital punishment issued against the killer. The duo met under the Ras Al Khaimah Bridge to settle their financial disputes but it ended in an argument following which the suspect stabbed the victim several times.

The old man succumbed to the fatal stabs despite being shifted to the nearest hospital immediately.

The Criminal Investigations Department (CID) of the RAK Police who were alerted of the crime hunted down the criminal who fled the scene after the crime.

The killer admitted to his crime during police interrogations and before the public prosecution.
