Hillel Academy holds dedication ceremony for Arthur J. Forman Science Lab

(MENAFNEditorial) On Mon. Mar. 14 2016 a special dedication took place in Hillel Academy''s middle school building. The Forman family donated funds to support science education and in turn the school''s science lab was named in memory of Arthur J. Forman – their husband father and grandfather. The lab will be known as The Arthur J. Forman Science Lab.

Amy Wasser Hillel Academy''s Head of School planned and conducted the dedication ceremony with the Forman grandchildren per the wishes of Susan Forman their grandmother.

Dr. Forman an area psychiatrist had a deep love of Judaism. He was a member of Rodeph Sholom and a staunch supporter of Hillel Academy. Dr. and Mrs. Forman''s three sons (Seth Jonathan and Howard) attended Hillel Academy and now Seth and Jonathan who live locally send their children to the school.

Abby the oldest of the Forman cousins said ''We are very lucky to be here to help dedicate the science lab in memory of our grandpa. As the oldest cousin I am very lucky to have had the most time learning from him watching him with our family and benefiting from his love. The Jewish community was very important to my Grandpa and I think this lab would be very meaningful to him because his life focused on maintaining Jewish traditions and keeping up with the latest scientific trends in his field.''

Asher added ''Grandpa loved science. I remember once going with him to Barnes and Noble and he bought a huge kit with experiments and a tank with eggs that were supposed to hatch. My Grandpa was so committed to Judaism. He passed down his love of science to his sons and he kept a very Jewish home that my Grandma keeps up today. So this lab at Hillel would be very special to him.''

Jadyn said ''Today would be very special for my Grandpa. He would be so pleased to know that Judaism and science were going to flourish because of his dedication to this school to our community and to the broader Jewish world.

Sam said ''This would mean so much to Grandpa knowing he was making a difference in the lives of others and that he is still loved. His grandchildren in New Jersey also live a life dedicated to Jewish education and values and we wish they lived here.''

Ari added ''When Gabe and I were young Grandpa died and we are very lucky to have our Grandma in our life.''

Hillel Academy offers morning bus service from South Tampa and North Pinellas/Hillsborough counties with bus stops in Palm Harbor Oldsmar and Westchase.

Hillel Academy is accredited by the Florida Council of Independent Schools (FCIS) and the Florida Kindergarten Council (FKC) and is a member of the Jewish Community Day School Network and the National Association of Independent Schools. The school is recognized by the U.S. Dept. of Education as a Blue Ribbon School.
