Oman- Sultanate selects Lockheed's forecasting tools for airports

Oman Airports Management Co (OAMC) has agreed on a seven-year contract with Lockheed Martin for its suite of forecasting solutions to support the ambitious growth plans of both the Muscat and Salalah airports as well as the national carrier Oman Air.

Having welcomed more than 10mn passengers to Muscat International Airport in 2015 OAMC is on the way to achieving its vision of becoming a top 20 global airport by 2020 having demonstrated impressive 18 per cent year-on-year growth.

OAMC will use the Beontra tools B Tactical and B Capacity to forecast and effectively manage the impact of this steep growth curve on both strategic planning and day-to-day operations and will help the airports generate accurate resource plans to ensure passenger experience is never compromised Lockheed Martin said in a statement on its website on Tuesday.

The tools will play a key role to support decision-making and will enable greater collaboration between the commercial and operational departments to optimise existing infrastructure it added.

At the signing of the agreement in Cologne Germany recently Aimen Ahmed al Hosni CEO of OAMC said 'We achieved record growth last year surpassing 10mn passengers for the first time. Lockheed Martin UK headquartered in London is the UK-based arm of Lockheed Martin Corporation a global security and aerospace company. Lockheed Martin UK specialises in the development integration and sustainment of advanced technology systems products and services. The company employs more than 3000 people in the UK working across 21 sites on a wide range of major programmes spanning the aerospace defence and civil sectors the statement said.
