Oman- State Council meet discusses proposals H E Mehrzi's speech

The Bureau of the State Council on Tuesday hosted the standing committee heads and appreciated the speech of the Minister of Tourism.

The meeting was held under H E Yahya bin Mahfoudh al Manthri chairman of the State Council in the presence of the heads of the standing committees and the council's secretary general.

A press release stated that H E Manthri appreciated the heads of the committees for the efforts exerted in completing the assigned task of the council relating to draft law reports and topics related to the parliamentary group.

The bureau praised the reference made by H E Ahmed bin Nasser bin Hamad al Mehrzi Minister of Tourism while delivering a statement with regard to the Oman Tourism Strategy 2040. H E Mehrzi appreciated the study conducted by the State Council on tourism and the challenges it faces. The meeting discussed a range of topics and means to enhance the role of committees.

The bureau also honoured Eng Nashiah bint Saud bin Mohammed al Kharousiyah State Council member and bureau member of the council for being chosen as the vice president of the coordinating committee of women parliamentarians.

The bureau commended the high level of cooperation between the State Council and the Shura Council and stressed that the ongoing collaboration which will benefit the joint parliamentary work. The bureau also discussed a number of proposals submitted by members of the council and referred them to the relevant committees and discussed a number of messages received from concerned authorities and took appropriate decisions.

The agenda for the seventh regular session which will be held on April 19 was also decided. The meeting approved the minutes of the previous bureau meeting and reviewed the report on the implementation of decisions.
