Sri Lanka to ship in 50k Iranian oil bpd

(MENAFN) Sri Lanka prepares to join Iran's oil customers' long waiting list, which only shows and demonstrates Iran's keenness to take advantage of all profitable opportunities which may occur.

Sri Lanka's demand is projected at about 50,000 barrels of Iranian crude oil per day since it possesses only one refinery with a capacity of 50,000 bpd, plus it imported 50,000 barrels before the sanctions.

Accordingly, Iranian crude oil exports to Sri Lanka will resume after the complete removal of international sanctions, however; talks on resuming Iran's oil export appears to be time-consuming.

In more detail, as explained by officials, nearly 40 percent of Iran's crude oil production will be delivered to Europe whereas the rest 60 percent will be exported to Asian markets.
