Iran, Turkey to settle gas trade disagreements

(MENAFN) Strong predictions projects that Iran will resolve its difference with Turkey over gas pricing by end-March.

Iran is ready to increase gas exports to Turkey which is now getting 10 billion cubic meters of gas under a 25-year contract signed in 1996.

Turkey claims Iran's price is too high, charging USD490 per 1,000 cubic meters versus USD335 and USD425 by Azerbaijan and Russia respectively.

Iran is Turkey's second supplier of gas after Russia, providing for one-fifth of the nation's needs. Azerbaijan is another supplier.
